Jim has been investing in privately-held
growth technology companies for nearly 16
years. Before co-founding in 2001 the $80
million NJTC Venture Fund, Jim was a manager
at Oracle Corporation in the Silicon Valley.
He represents NJTC Venture Fund at ten portfolio
companies and is a former Governor of the
National Association of Small Business Investment
Companies. Jim earned a BS from Stanford
University and an MBA with distinction from
Duke University.

Joe has 18 years of experience in the venture-backed
technology industry. Prior to NJTC Venture
Fund, he was a partner in Andersen's Growth
Company and Technology Practice, specializing
in information technology, communications,
and healthcare services. Joe is a CPA and
a graduate of Temple University. Joe represents
the Fund on the Boards of Archive Systems,
V12 Group, Sword Diagnostics, Power Survey,
and Cylex. He also sits on the Boards of
the New Jersey Technology Council and Ben
Franklin Technology Partners.

Mr. Chefitz has been in the private equity
business for over 25 years. During the last
seven years, Mr. Chefitz has been a General
Partner with NJTC Venture Fund where he
has led a number of investments from a broad
range of industries including software services
to cleantech materials. Mr. Chefitz is currently
a Director at, Achieve 3000, Hycrete Technologies,
Andrew Technologies, Redpoint Bio Corporation,
and RightAnswers; as well as theLadders.com,
Alarm.com, and Point Blank Solutions. Previous
to NJTC Venture Fund, Mr. Chefitz was a
General Partner at Apax Partners where over
the course of fifteen years he was involved
in nine funds representing over $2 billion
of capital. Mr. Chefitz began his career
with Golder Thoma Cressey, and for seven
years he was engaged in a number of industry
roll-up investments. His knowledge of the
paging, cellular telephone, and funeral
home industry led to several industry consolidations
which generated investments with superior
returns. Mr. Chefitz has a successful track
record of investing in a broad range of
industries and stages which include buyouts,
expansion funds and venture capital. Some
of these investments include Office Depot,
Intermedia, Xpedite, and numerous other
investments where he was a lead investor
and/or Director.
